FAQs
Failure to install in accordance with instructions could result in damage or injury; it’s recommended for a qualified marine installer.
Yes, you must update the Garmin chartplotter software after installation.
Apply marine sealant to all screw threads to prevent water from seeping into the transom.
Use the template included in the product box for accurate mounting.
Mount as close to the centerline as possible but at least 38 cm (15 in.) from the propeller.
Route the transducer cable away from sources like ignition wires, house batteries, trolling motor batteries, and high-energy wires to reduce noise and interference.
Use a countersink bit to make a counterbore through only the gel-coat layer, and place tape over the pilot-hole before drilling.
Tighten enough to hold it in place at speed, but loose enough to pivot if it hits obstructions.
Lightly sand and clean the transducer, then coat it and mounting hardware with a water-based anti-fouling paint for long-term protection.
Mount the transducer at least 38 cm (15 in.) from the propeller on boats with outboard or inboard/outboard motors.
Do not cut the transducer cable. Cutting the cable will void your warranty.
Route the transducer cable away from ignition wires, batteries, and high-energy wires to ensure the lowest noise and interference.
If your propeller moves clockwise, mount on starboard. If counterclockwise, mount on port side.
Use waterproof tape (not included) to secure the transducer cable to the trolling motor shaft.
It’s recommended to use a countersink bit to drill a clearance counterbore through only the top gel-coat layer to help prevent cracking when tightening screws.
