Protect marine hardware against galvanic corrosion, galling and seizure while keeping future disassembly practical.
Tef-Gel is a high-viscosity PTFE paste for fasteners, fittings and electrical connections exposed to corrosive environments. It fills the microscopic spaces between assembled surfaces, helping prevent moisture and electrolytes from establishing a galvanic cell.
Key benefits
- Galvanic-corrosion barrier: Helps keep salt water and other electrolytes out of the interface between dissimilar metals.
- Anti-seize protection: The PTFE-rich paste reduces galling and seizing on stainless-steel and other metal fasteners.
- Long-lasting marine use: Contains no volatile solvents and resists salt water, fresh water, ultraviolet light and detergents.
Application
Clean corrosion, dirt and contaminants from both surfaces. Apply a continuous coat to threaded fasteners, mating surfaces or electrical connectors before assembly. Tighten the hardware and remove excess paste with mineral spirits. Lubricated threads can alter tightening torque; follow the hardware manufacturer’s requirements.
